Niki Mahajan, the queen of traditional craftsmanship recently unveiled her Couture collection in Delhi City !!

Her latest couture collection which is inspired by Begum Hazrat Mahal of Awadh, involves articulate age-old embroideries and fabrics like badla work, block printing and mukaish.

The craftsmanship of the collection is the core essence of her stunning designs.

Her new line this time has a different appeal to it as the collection has a lot of embroidery and not her signature prints , which were always the key focus in her collection.

We at Style Coquettes loved her unique concept at the show which- ” begets the story of Begum Hazrat Mahal’s journey” .

The journey was showcased in 5 segments of the collections giving us all an insight to the various phases in Begum Hazrat Mahal’s life and rich culture of that era.

  • Ecru-Birth

  • Jewel – Adolescence

  • Vermilion-Wedding

  • Vintage-Exile

  • Noir-Death

“This is my ode to women who selflessly do everything and still get no recognition. They are nameless and faceless,” said Mahajan.

Mahajan who launched her label in 1988, today has developed a niche for her label worldwide owing to her unique sense of style.

Really her designs are eternal with her craftsmanship is something which one rarely gets to see in today’s time.
