It’s not everyday that you get to visit a place where the customer is treated like a KING! That is what exactly happens at SETZ, the multi cuisine restaurant at DLF Emporio, New Delhi.
The seven international kitchens have been SET’Z’s guiding light ever since its inception. With offerings ranging from Northern Indian, Thai, Chinese, Southern Coastal Indian, Arabic, European and Japanese, the place exhibits GASTRONOMIC EXUBERANCE!
The NEW MENU has been specially created to bring you the BEST from the BEST. It is a select choice of dishes from across cuisines included in the menu after taking customer feedback. Adding more flavours to the fair, is a unique notion of “Back to the Basic” which keeps the contemporary sprit alive even though preserving the quintessence of authenticity.
Honoring these cuisines is Setz sumptuous and interactive buffet concept wherein each section is based on the personalized, live food stations, which apart from ready to eat dishes gives a leverage to get the food custom made in accordance to the guest’s requirement.
We began our gastronomical journey with savoring starters from across the menu.
First up were the dimsums. Peaking duck, spinach wrap, chicken, lamb, prawn, water chestnut, peanut, cashewnut, phew!! Setz definitely has the best dimsum menu though my personal favourite were the chestnut ones which had just the right amount of softness and the crunch.
From a selection of salads, the Thai Lotus Stem was the one that stood out with it’s subtle flavour of lemongrass and a hint of chilli sauce.
The Arabic starters comprised of juicy and succulent creole cottage sticks garnished with Arabic spices and tender Turkish garlic chicken with sumac powder.
The Indian coastal spread comprising of kozhi chop vattichadu, pall katti melugu varuwal, mutton coconut flakes and prawn amongst many others is as authentic as authentic can get. Maybe the appams could have been a little softer.
To finish off the meal were the desserts which you can totally drool on. From coffee cream brulee to caramelized banana cake to chocolate cappuccino puff, each had it’s distinct taste. Not to forget that all ingredients including ice creams are made in house.
Our Verdict: 7 kitchens might just be a little too much for our palette but certainly leaves one spoilt for choices. Each of the kitchen is maintained separately, retaining the distinct flavour of the cuisine. The ambiance and hospitality of the place is it’s hallmark. Despite being a stand alone property, Setz parallels any of the restaurant at a 5 star property. It is every bit value for money. The buffets and Sunday brunch are a must visit.
