From a collection which was filled with promise and a good deal of grandeur by “Virtue” to the world of Vintage by Pankaj and Nidhi, here are all the highlights from day two of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.
Day 2 at WIFW 2015 opened with the EKA show.. Easy Breezy and just perfect!! From cotton layered tunics to Cotton shift dresses , #CottonGalore is the hashtag that I would use for this label’s collection.
- Virtue by Viral, Ashish & Vikrant
The innovative designs presented on the ramp by Viral, Ashish and Vikranth’s were an ode to Love-humanity and embracing people with HIV. The collection had a hint of red in almost everything from asymmetrical dresses worn by the female models to the lovely crimson dhoti pants sported by the male models. It was definitely a show with a unique concept!!
- Manish Gupta
It was certainly a trip to Florence with Manish Gupta. The use of the sorbet hues and the feminine silhouettes is what made the collection very preppy indeed!!
- Samanth Chauhan
The collection “Dream”showcased by Samant Chauhan was synonymous to “Spring”. The Floral detailing , the flared gowns and of course the innovative styling, it was quite a surprise package.
- Kavita Bhartia
Her collection “Out of the Karkhana to the Runway” was “an ode to master artisans and karigars” as it focused more on the detailing and the handloom aspect!!
- Payal Pratap
- Gauri & Nainika Show
Gauri & Nainika’s signature stark silhouettes were primarily designed in the striking colors of the beautiful planet as their SS 15 collection was dedicated to #NaturalCrisis and #calamities . What I liked the most about the collection was that the cuts were pretty clean and restrained.
- Malini Ramani
Malini gave us a peak into her tribal inspired collection called “The Tribe” The entire collection was predominantly black and brown with a hint of gold along with her signature hand dyed drapes and aztec prints. As always her collection was extremely edgy!!
- Pankaj & Nidhi Show
Last but not the least the Dashing-Duo showcased a beautiful collection!! #VeryVintage #VeryChic. The duo had used intricate silk-thread work technique to transcribe the elegance of lace in cape dresses and jackets along with inlay work from period furniture and flooring which was interpreted beautifully in their collection.
#SneakPeak #Day02 #FashionGalavant with FDCI’s Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week
Now that we are talking about galavanting I have to say that the stall area is the heart of WIFW.
Since we do not have the “Western” showroom culture yet where the buyers go for their post show meetings and deals the WIFW stalls are where you see the clothes up close and actually get to feel the fabric. Well after all they help you get the pulse of the trends for the seasons.. isn’t it?
Just like any other fashionista I visited these stalls around and managed to interact with a couple of designers as well.
Have a Look!!
Yay!! My “CANDID CAMERA” moment with #SuneetVerma as a guest of #POPxo
For me the Gaurav Gupta stall scored the highest!!
