Best Of #Day1 – AIFW AW 16 – RECAP

The anticipation running up to day one of FDCI’s Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016 was met with a spectacular opening with an ode to #IndiaModern as the theme.

If we had to pick our favorite from day 1 it has to be the designer duo, Hemant and Nandita. Their collection appealed to us the most. It was nearly impossible to pick a favorite look from their AW 16 collection. Each one featured an alluring and surprising color combination. From deep midnight blues to earthy tones and charcoal greys. Black and Red— a favorite combo of ours— were paired often, and in this particular look, the duo mixed textures in a very successful way.

Shirts and dresses in sheeny jacquard lend the right amount of metallic edge to bind the look together. A generous amount of layering with bold cover ups and jackets and droopy shoulder seams weaved magic on the runway.

We are sure that this collection will truly mark the onset of Autumn Winter this year.
