Day 1 at the fashion week is usually the most happening. That’s also the day we bunk office and strut our way through (considering day jobs don’t give us the liberty of attending all days) the festival venue. And we continued with the tradition for AIFWSS18.

A lot of you ask us as to what conspires at a fashion week besides the shows ofcourse! So here we give you a little round-up of what our Day 1 at Amazon Indian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018 looked like.

RockNShop was our sartorial saviour for the day and surely some heads did turn as we made our entry at the venue- NSIC Ground, Okhla, New Delhi. Can’t tell you how much we miss Pragati Maidan hosting the week 🙁 But such is life.

Meeting long lost friends from media, PR, brands, designers, models, etc is what we love doing the most (did someone say networking, sshhhh…). On top of the agenda is also finishing our collaboration work before we let our guards down!

Amanda sure loves her phone

Hobnobbing, attending pre/post show parties, checking out the lounges, designer stall in exhibit areas and yeah an energy shot is what we do next.

At the HONOR lounge

At the CIVIL HOUSE pop up

And ofcourse how can we miss attending the shows. Our favourite from Day 1 has to be Nida Mahmood.

Lastly, we do keep our eyes open for all the STREET STYLE inspiration.

The season of Diwali not only brings with it a wave of pujas and festivities but also stacks up your sartorial calendar with numerous cards parties. Obviously, there’s no better time to place your bets on the best of ethnic wear than in this leg of the party season. Given the Diwali celebrations have already begun, it’s time to prep your ethnic wear wardrobe to help you put your best foot forward with NICOBAR.

Here goes our FESTIVE EDIT.

Either embrace the six yard drape and work an embellished sari for the evening or Step into anarkalis in bright tones or if heavy duty is not your thing then opt for something fuss free and classy!

Adding a statement bag always helps.

Going with Nicobar‘s beautiful twirl-worthy tunics with a long jacket instead of a traditional dupatta is what we’ve opted for the festive season.

There is a nip in the air. We can smell festivity. The favourite time of the year is here. Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, phew! That’s a lot of outfits 😉 Any thoughts on your FESTIVE attire?? Ofcourse if you haven’t already, we are here to give you some inspiration. So let’s start.

Our style is UNDERSTATED. Not many clashing things fighting for attention. Rather one statement piece. And that’s why we have created this look.

Emphasising on the VOLUME of the skirt, pairing it up with a BOLD colour top & a matching purse. Keeping it simple & classy.

SHANTANU & NIKHIL – this designer duo has always had a lasting impact on us to say the least. From their classic cuts to their progressive designs and sharp eclectic elegance – their distinct style has always influenced the way people dress, and the way new designers approach their work.

The duo has helped shape the ever-evolving women’s wear landscape for the better part for more than a decade with their imaginative, boundary-design philosophies, sharp tailoring and classic silhouettes.

Coming to their latest fall/winter season collection “The Regiment” – it constructs a couture range brimming with androgyny by passing a strong message of Pride Togetherness and Discipline.

While watching the show I felt a certain sense of pride and I say that because my grandfather was in the Sikh Regiment which at one stage was  one of the highest decorated regiments in the British Empire. Hence when I saw the Sikh models walking down the Runway it gave me immense pride and joy watching it all come alive so beautifully.

The show was definitely a reflective of the paradigm shift in the fashion industry. Whether it may be paying homage to members of the armed forces or breaking the stereotype with Sikh models gracing the runway or promoting gender equality by using similar silhouettes for men and women. Shantanu & Nikhil succeeded in creating an impactful seasonal lineup hitting everything from Military inspired design elements with Swarovski crystals to contemporary cuts and feminine silhouettes.

They managed to to weave their magic with an Autumn Winter collection that was so strong yet so inspiring.

Straight and clean silhouettes have rather been a passe as this season we experiment with the more playful and wavy companion- RUFFLES. Long associated with VINTAGE fashion, ruffles are a good way to make a strong FEMININE statement.

This versatile trend can be donned in multiple ways over sleeves, necklines and hemlines. So choose a ruffled top, skirt, dress or a pant and bring on your cheerful best.

Here is our take on the trend.

This trend is having a field day so don’t be afraid to add some on your outfit and RUFFLE UP SOME FEATHERS!!

At the ripe age of 30 when most women get married, have kids and think it’s the end of life for them, Guneet Gyani Gupta had the courage to follow her dreams. Dream of pursuing a career in fashion, dream of being a certified scuba diver. And boy she did it!

Guneet’s journey has been nothing less than inspirational. An Engineer by training, Marketing Executive by profession and Fashionista by passion, Guneet has been shortlisted for the famed Haut Monde Mrs India Worldwide beauty pageant as one of the finalists. And all this, while pursuing a full time career with Amazon India as a Marketing Manager and managing her home and husband to perfection.

Being an army kid, Guneet travelled across the country being schooled at multiple places and interacting with all kinds of people. But conventional wisdom prevailed on her and she decided to study Engineering. Mid-way through, she realised that this is something she doesn’t like but went onto finish her degree. Her inclination towards fashion encouraged her to participate in beauty pageants while in college but she never took it up professionally. Post engineering, she quickly did a course correction and pursued a career in Marketing Communication.

Guneet: The Adventure Freak

She met her future husband over Salsa classes while working at TCS and they got hitched in 2013. But the inkling to win a crown was always there. It was NOW or NEVER for her. “I want to tell all the women out there that life doesn’t stop after marriage. You don’t have to give up on one thing to get another”, she says. With the support from her husband and family, Guneet finally decided to pursue her dreams. She wants to become an influencer whose voice people hear to drive change. Working towards conservation of marine eco-system is one such cause.

Guneet: The Salsa Dancer

Today Guneet has a successful career with an MNC, a loving family and time to pursue her dreams. “Women are naturally good at multi-tasking; it’s just about organising and planning things well. It’s never too late to follow your dreams”, she concludes.

Guneet’s Quick Fix

  1. The craziest thing you have ever done- Mountain climbing without a guide
  2. Describe yourself in three words- Adventurous, Fashionable, Hard-working
  3. Your comfort food- Italian
  4. Your Fashion idol- Sonam Kapoor

Happy Monday Bombshells! Is it just us or is July flying by at a rapid pace? I can’t believe we have begun with this month already. Before we know it, we’ll be saying goodbye to warmer days and will be swapping shorts and sandals for sweaters and boots. Anyway, for today’s feature we’re channeling the vintage vibe with 20’s inspired “Flapper Dress” by giving it our own twist.

The 20s was the era of Flamboyance and Jazz so Mili’s look today is a rendition to that statement “Flapper Dress” courtesy H&M.

After going through endless photographs we clicked during our staycation at Andaz, we have finally managed to shortlist the ones that capture the “Andaz”worthy essence of the hotel along with our vintage “Andaz” which blended in beautifully with the property.

We were scouting for the perfect location for our shoot and that’s when we stumbled upon this brand new property- Andaz by Hyatt at Aerocity, New Delhi – Fresh and stimulating environment, infused with character, welcoming guests to create inspiring experiences through a kaleidoscope of local culture. The DELHI VIBE and the AMBASSADOR is hard to miss!

Andaz by Hyatt is more than just a hotel, it’s truly an experience – A concept by Hyatt where there are no barriers- only fluid, friendly and accommodating spaces that invite you to move seamlessly from one new experience to the next. It’s a ‘CASUALLY COOL LUXURY’ hotel!

Believe it or not but the property’s fuss free approach is what makes the hotel feel at home, No Intimidating uniforms or code of conduct. It’s simply personifies the city in it’s true Andaz. Also the 401 rooms in the hotel are dedicated to one reason each to fall in love with the city (not to be missed, the customised book- ‘401 Reasons To Fall In love With Delhi by Fiona Caulfield)

MAY 22, 2017 – H&M INDIA
In the black ,there is some white. In the wrong, there is some right. In the dark, there is some light. In the blind, there is some sight.

What’s better than one fashion blogger providing major style inspo? How about two. From coordinating outfits to contrasting tastes, there’s nothing better than applying a Yin-Yang perspective.

Amanda’s dramatic take on things will keep you entertained throughout whereas; Mili’s simplistic ideologies will have you smiling for hours.

“The Yin to the Yang” – Amanda

Their style is approachable, classic, and easy. Their no-fuss approach to life and the ease with which they share their tidbits of their lives is what adds zing to their feeds.

Yang to the Yin – Mili

Therefore this harmonious balance of Yin Yang is what helps juxtapose Fashion with Functionality courtesy – Style Coquettes.
