Now here’s a feather rather a tulip in the cap of the Indian fashion industry!!!

Dutch Fashion, Now in India.

Last night Sunil Sethi along with Alphonsus Stoelinga (ambassador of Netherlands to India) marked the onset of Indo – Dutch Fashion collaboration at the Netherlands Embassy.

Dutch Fashion Here and Now in India (DFH&NI) is a three-year programme which has been designed by The Dutch government and FDCI. It shall provide an opportunity to network with their Indian counterparts leading to collaboration between designers, fashion photographers and people from the denim industry. (FYI Amsterdam is one of the denim capitals of the world and India has the highest number of denim manufacturers)

Just to give you a deeper insight, Suneet Varma and Dutch couturier Taminiau will work together to bring out a collection that will have an eclectic mix of Dutch-India combo. On the other hand the other designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna would be teaming up with DIED, (silk and jewellery label set up by Diederik Verbakel and Marieke Holthuis ) to set the runway ablaze,

So get set go all you Style Coquettes as both designer couples will showcase the first look of their collaboration at the Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW) on 6 October, tomorrow.

> Designers Suneet Varma, Rohit Gandhi& Rahul Khanna, Jan Taminiau and DIED had their creations on display

> Leading fashion expert, Harmeet Bajaj who is also the Brand Ambassador of DFH&NI along with FDCI President Sunil Sethi, were also spotted enjoying the event.

( Suneet Varma , Harmeet Bajaj and the duo Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna were seen in full swing before the 5 day dazzle kicks off tomorrow )

(Sunil Seth in his element looking fine as usual in his black blazer and dark blue jeans)

1) Taminiau

He uses a lot of beadwork, something that Indian designers do as well

Silk and jewellery label set up by Diederik Verbakel and Marieke Holthui, usually keep it quite subtle

3) Suneet Varma

Embellishments have always been the USP of his label

4) Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna

The duo has always been popular for its Linear structures, geometrical lines.

(Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City)

Remember when you swore you would never wear the boring calf length skirts/ dresses? Well now you might just want to wear them as the mainstay of the sensible woman’s wardrobe, the Tea length Skirt / mid-calf length skirt, has been an absolute surprise winner this season on all the international runways. Designers have shown that you don’t have to flash the flesh to look sexy.

So when I was thinking about what to wear for my Birthday I opted for a Vintage tea length skirt, because last month I was certainly obsessed with the SATC series and wanted a hint Carrie Bradshaw (SJP) in my ensemble. And guess what?? I ended up altering my Dior Dress (which my dad got me when I was all of 10) and made a high waisted tea length Skirt out of it. I teamed up my tea length with a black sheer top and a sequin corsage on my wrist to give it a finishing touch.
